We are reputable dog breeders for over 1/4 century. We promote the humane care of all our dogs. The socialization of every dog in our care is of the utmost importance from the tiny newborn to the retired momma's. If a good home is found for them they are placed there to live out their lives, if not they enjoy our company, companionship of their dog friends or a walk down our country lane. If you are considering the addition of a puppy or dog in your lives, consider the fact it will be a long term commitment, dogs can live 10 - 15 years and sometimes longer. Veterinary charges are part of responsible ownership as well as the cost of dog food. In situations of crisis, we have taken our puppies or dogs back home to Fairview to care for them until their owner is able to take them back or if they are unable to do so, we will find a new home for them. There are many dogs in need of homes in today's economy, check out the shelter's in you area and you may find just the right one. However if a puppy from us catches your eye, give us a call for a personal interview and personality details about the puppy you are interested in. We invite you here to pick up your puppy, if it is possible for you to do so. We enjoy meeting and visiting with the new owners. The Italian Greyhound has been our love for the past 11 years. The desire to have a Greyhound goes back to the days of horse showing. Our good friends had a retired racing Hound named "Honey", she traveled with them to every show in their huge Motorhome. Well we didn't have room for dog that size in our truck, but we never forgot about "Honey". A few years later at an AKC Dog show in Sioux Falls, SD, we met the perfect miniature of "Honey", her name was "Phoebe". We visited with her owner and a month later Julie purchased her with the promise of a good home and to continue showing her. That was the beginning of it all!! But more than being a sleek beautiful show dog, the IG is a very loving companion. They have brought such joy to the lives of many. It is that joy and companionship that entices us to continue to raise a few IG's for those of you desiring that kind of dog. The IG isn't for everyone, they need to be handled by adults or very responsible children. IG's were NOT born to FLY!!! A broken leg can be devastating to both the owner and the dog. AKC offers a pet insurance at the time of registration and that maybe helpful in that situation. In addition to our IG's we have researched for a puppy that would work well for families. Children need something sturdy, something with a playful personality, and short haired for easy maintenance. We found the Miniature Dachshund to be just the right fit! Our Grandson, Jordan, has taken them on as his favorites and enjoys the socialization of these adorable puppies. And of course you cannot be without the "Fluffy Puppy"!! Who can resist a little ball of fur?! Australian Shepherds have had their place at Fairview for 36 years now, we enjoy them very much, but an Aussie does require close contact with their owner. They do not do well if left alone for long days at work. Need a "Fluffy Puppy" that can stay home while you're at work and can be a child's best friend!! The Shih-Poo is the perfect fit! Crossed with a Shih Tzu female and a Poodle male, we have discovered a wonderful puppy. Our Grand-daughter Emma calls them "her puppies" and spends time cuddling with the puppies. They are sturdy, friendly and smart. NEW TO FAIRVIEW!!! We are excited to present 2 litters of Texas Heelers. A Texas Heeler is the cross between an Australian Shepherd and an Australian Cattle Dog, (aka the Blue Heeler). We have 2 very intelligent female Blue Heelers that have proven themselves to work. They go to the Stockyards and are the cattle's worst Nightmare!! They are the most devoted companion that we have ever come across, and they are our shadows wherever we go.
